Arthur S. Unger, C.P.A.
Arthur Unger has been with Mallah Furman and Company his entire professional career. He was born and raised in Miami Beach, surrounded by family involved in both the medical profession and the hospitality industry. Consequently, he has a uniquely sensitive perspective in his ability to handle the needs of healthcare professionals, as he serves as one of the Directors. Artie's expertise also includes the fashion and entertainment industries and not-for-profit organizations. A graduate of the University of Miami, he has devoted himself to the betterment of his community through countless hours of civic involvement.
Mr. Unger has extensively counseled closely held businesses on structuring (proposed and existing businesses), financing alternatives and credit management, results evaluation and interpretation, forecasting and financial modeling, profitability analyses, systems evaluation and development, training financial personnel, asset maximization, and individual, partnership and corporate tax preparation. His main areas of concentration are in healthcare, professional service corporations, restaurants, hospitality, film, fashion and entertainment, art and antiquities, and non-profit organizations.
Artie started at Mallah Furman as a college intern in 1974, and was admitted as a Principal and Shareholder in 1987. Artie's experiences as an intern led him to initiate a very successful formal internship program for the Firm in 1994.
Artie's many professional and civic affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Florida Restaurant Association. Artie currently serves as treasurer for Miami Jewish Health Systems and is a CPA Member of the Success Link Chapter of Business Network International (BNI). He is a Life Trustee of Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and is Chairman of the Chamber's "Our Drive Ocean Drive Task Force;" He is active in Mt. Sinai's Foundation, member of the Foundation's Planned Giving Committee and member of The Legacy Circle. He is also Vice Chairman of the City of Miami Beach's Healthcare Facilities Advisory Board.
