David E. Sloan is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst with over 35 years experience. As a Director at Mallah Furman, David’s practice is concentrated in tax planning and compliance matters, and includes experience in all phases of taxation including partnerships, S corporations, complex tax planning for individuals, closely held businesses, and transactional analysis. David’s experience also includes all phases of real estate taxation including single and multifamily residential housing, commercial properties, planning for acquisition and dispositions, directing real estate divestitures, and various land use issues. As a Certified Valuation Analyst, David deals with valuation issues for estate and gift tax planning as well as in connection with federal income tax planning including acquisitions and dispositions.
David has served as a member of the New York Bar Committee on Income from Real Property and the Real Estate Committee of the New York Society of CPA’s for whom he lectured on various issues relating to the taxation of real estate.
David earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from State University of New York at Buffalo. A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, he went on to receive his master of laws degree in taxation at New York University School of Law. Prior to joining Mallah, Furman in 1994, David worked in New York at Kenneth Levanthal & Company and Price Waterhouse, among others.
David’s professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, New York Bar Association and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
