Bohlmann Elected to Board of Directors of The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO)
MIAMI, Fla., May 21, 2010 - Benjamin D. Bohlmann, CPA, partner at Miami-based accounting firm Mallah Furman, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO). With 80 professional musicians selected from the finest artists from around the world, MISO, Miami’s flagship orchestra, represents the exceptional talent and diversity that mirrors this city’s own international and multicultural richness.
Bohlmann has broad knowledge and experience in federal and state taxation focusing on the U.S. tax impact of international transactions including ownership structures and property development issues, high net worth individuals, closely held businesses and S corporations. Having lived and practiced overseas, Bohlmann has particular expertise in financial and tax strategies for foreign investments into the U.S., from the start-up level to large, established U.S. subsidiaries to foreign-owned entities.
Bohlmann has been with Mallah Furman since 1994 and previously held positions at KPMG Peat Marwick in Miami and Price Waterhouse in Miami and Tokyo. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Florida International University.
