Mallah furman announces its continued sponsorship of the 2nd annual family retreat to benefit the ficpa educational foundation
MIAMI, Fla., June 28, 2010 - Mallah Furman announced that it will again sponsor the Miami-Dade Chapter's 2nd Annual Family Retreat to Benefit the FICPA Educational Foundation, being held from July 22nd to July 25th at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida.
Last year's inaugural event successfully raised a total of $18,000 in scholarships, and with registrations for the upcoming retreat coming in steadily, this year's event holds even greater potential for raising much needed funds.
The FICPA Educational Foundation works to ensure the integrity and success of the accounting profession in Florida. Founded in 1959 as the R. Warner Ring Educational Foundation, it has distributed more than $2 million to colleges and accounting students around the state. Foundation scholarships assist students in pursuing their degrees at any college or university in the state that has an accredited accounting program.
The Miami - Dade Chapter recognized the importance of promoting the accounting profession and the Institute locally, thereby increasing awareness and support for the FICPA's Educational Foundation, which in turn lead to the evolution of this annual fun-filled, family-oriented retreat.
This year's keynote speaker is former AICPA Chairman Bill Ezzell, and there will also be a cocktail reception in honor of FICPA President Michael Pender. Other activities include the FICPA Ed Foundation 50th Anniversary Past Presidents’ Beach Dinner, chapter board meeting, cocktail receptions, luau beach dinner, golf scramble tournament, boating, swimming, spa and leisure activities, and more.
